Do They Know Its [STILL] Christmas?!

One last Christmas time Drawing. This one and the previous Nightmare before Christmas drawings were both done for the fabulous crew over at Cave Drawing Ink for their Top Ten Christmas Movies List Blog! I got do draw number six, The Nightmare, and also the NUMBER ONE Movie, Scrooge, starring Alastair Sim. This move is also one of my all time FAVORITE movies, Christmas or NOT! Its that good. So if you are still in the Christmas Spirit, and I know you still are, or even if you are not, please see this version of the classic Christmas Carol story; you will not regret it!

I actually love how this drawing came out so much, that I decided to put it in a beautiful frame and give it to my mother, who introduced me to the movie when I was really, REALLY little, and it's been a family tradition to watch it on Christmas Eve year in and year out. Now I say its one of my favorite movies of all time, but for my mother, it is absolute her favorite movie of all time, by FAR! So she really loved it, and I was really happy to do it for her, and I thank the Cave Drawing Ink crew for letting me participate in the Top Ten list they held, so I could be able to do this drawing! I hope you all like it, and to see the other top ten movies the guys picked, and all the illustrations that went along with those picks, please check out their website at:

Again, lots more to come as we try and start the New Year, 2010 off with a BANG, and lets have a cheer to make this year the BEST yet for yourself, myself, and CjB Productions!

Happy New Year Everyone,

... and God Bless Us, Everyone!

"You should not be here..."

Avatar © 20th Century Fox

...you should be at the movies, seeing Avatar!

No seriously, go see it.

I will review the movie sometime in the future, for words kinda fail me right now. Just enjoy the pin-up of JakeSully I did, and take some time out to see the flick. The colored Photoshop image I did off the pencils is above, and the pencils are below!

Enjoy both, and if you are a fan of Science Fiction, comic books, or just movies in general, do yourself a favor and go see the movie. Preferably in IMAX 3-D if you can.

If you can't see it in IMAX 3D, just go see it anywhere, for I do want to go see Avatar in a regular theater now, just like the Dark Knight, to see the difference. I loved the movie itself, so I want to step back from the effects of the 3D and IMAX, and just focus more on it as a movie! Just loved it so much, I totally want to check out a digital screening of it, too.

Way more stuff to come this week, including two CHRISTMAS pieces! Be sure to keep checking back in, and I'll also try to write up a full review of Avatar this week too, cause I know some of you want to know what I think. (But I think that's pretty darn obvious already, as I don't even have words to express how I felt about it).

Entering the Dark-Side-rs!

Darksiders - Your Last Days Contest Entry
Darksiders © THQ, Inc.

Pencils & Photoshop

So I entered yet another contest. I never win these things, but it's always fun to throw your hat into the ring of an art competition. Hey, you never know, and if anything, it's more people to see you work, if they show all the submissions, which this contest is doing. The contest is being held over on DEVIANT ART, for the new Joe Mad! video game called Darksiders. The game looks amazing, and will be out January 8th, 2010! Obviously if you know me well at all, Joe Mad is my all time FAVORITE artist, bar none. He is really the one that keeps my comic aspirations and inspirations going, for every time I see his art, I just want to draw, and be as good as he is. He blows me away with EVERY drawing he does. So when I saw that a contest was being held where he was holding, and going to be one of the judges, I could not pass up the opportunity to enter.

Here are some links for the contest.

The Darksiders Video Game Community Board:

Well I hope you like my entry! It is all done in pencil, a double page spread, so the actual size is about 22 x 17 inches. I scanned the pencils in (cleaned it up), made adjustments in Photoshop, and then changed the tones to a sepia color that I thought looked awesome for the piece, and think it adds a lot to the look of the piece more so then the gray pencils did.

So wish me luck in the contest, and good luck to everyone who enters. I sure could use the money, and or a PlayStation 3 or XBox 360, so, fingers crossed!

And lastly, I just can not WAIT to get my hands on this game in January (assuming Santa brings me a PS3 for Christmas :-} ).

Check out the main video on the community board page for 2 minutes of the opening story of the game, with still moving images all from Joe Mad!

http://community.darksidersvideogame.com/home

You can see why he is and always will be the BEST artist in the world when it comes to this genre! Joe will always be an inspiration to me, and I thank him tremendously for that.

Oh, LOTS more to come very, VERY soon, trust me. I can't wait to show you some of the pieces I've done recently, it's been a very good month so far! So stay tuned, and I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season so far!

Until Next Time,

CjB

PS- AVATAR TOMORROW in IMAX 3-D! WHOOOO HOOOOOOOO!

It's Christmas Time!

Batman Christmas Gift Tag

Pen & Ink & Photoshop

This is a card tag I did for my coworker's Secret Santa gift I got. I got my coworker Katie a couple of Zombie books (How to Draw Zombies Manga Style, and Zombie CSI). It was supposed to be a Secret Santa, but my card tag above kinda gave that away, LoL.

It was a great day in the office though, as we celebrated the Holiday Season with our annual toy raffle. This year, after some swapping, I walked away with a Bigby Wolf/ Snow White Statue, a 1966 Replica Batmobile, an Adam Hughes Zatana Statue, and a Damien Scott Batgirl Statue! Awesome SWAG! It's great too because I have the other Fables Statue, Rose Red, and I have the Batman Begins Tumbler Statue, that will go along great with my now new Statues I got yesterday! The raffle is my FAVORITE day of the year, and we all had a GREAT time in the office celebrating the holidays and thanking each other for another great year!

I know I haven't posted anything in a bit, and I apologize for that. Just got really busy the last two months. But these next few weeks will have a BUNCH of updates from me, so keep checking back in! More Christmas Images, an Avatar pin-up, and a Freelance Portrait of the cutest twins you will ever see!

Until Then,

CjB
